ABOUT
Jeremy Chase is a Spanish-American film composer committed to discovering new and unique sound worlds for each project he works on because film music should not reflect other film music; it should reflect the world of the film it’s being written for.
Chase studied music as an undergraduate at the University of Virginia where he received the Undergraduate Arts Award in 2024 for his film compositions, a departmental recognition for his work in 2025, and graduated with highest honours for his distinguished major project in 2026. Chase has written original scores for over 20 short films, student films, and documentaries including: No-Cry Sleep Solution, Under The Magnolia Tree, AURORA, Robbed Blind, Time’s Shadow, and the upcoming UVA women’s tennis team documentary Our Culture, Our Strength. His scores have garnered recognition at film festivals such as the Adrenaline Film Festival and the Las Vegas Movie Awards. In 2025, Chase was Peninsula Music Festival’s emerging composer and his piece “Caribou” was premiered by the orchestra alongside selected works from John Williams.
Before college, Chase worked as an assistant for film composers Scott McRae and Ryan Rapsys. He also handled the Warner Media music catalog for Total Music Metadata and released a number of original electronic compositions with various record labels including Metanoia Music. His mentors include: Ben Rous, Leah Reid, Marcus Sjöwall, Ryder McNair, John D’earth, and Jeff Kurtenacker.
